南珠海横琴岛总体规划的理念根基是来源于岛屿自然发展的特征，而不仅仅来自灵感。规划遵循岛上的自然发展状态，维护原有生态平衡，从而使横琴岛维持可持续的发展方式。我们将横琴岛誉为南中国海上的一支圣洁的马蹄莲，是基于绿色城市理念，结合“呼吸“这个生命存在的必然方式产生的。我们希望将来的横琴岛是个绿色的、美丽的、怡然的、蓬勃的生命有机体，像一支纯洁、高雅、精致的马蹄莲。通过花的功能作比喻，我们将这些词汇融于设计，让在花中”呼吸”的人们体会它的生命。

The conceptual basis of the master plan for hengqin island in southern zhuhai is derived from the natural character of the island, not just from inspiration. The plan follows the natural development status of the island and maintains the original ecological balance, so as to maintain the sustainable development mode of hengqin island. We regard hengqin island as a holy calla lily in the south China sea, which is based on the concept of green city and combined with the inevitable way of "breathing"
